Pohela Baishak is the first day of the Bengali New Year. It is celebrated on April 14 in Bangladesh and April 15 in the West Bengal State in India.
There are huge colorful procession in Dhaka during Pohela Baishak.
Bengali People celebrate Pohela Baishak by attending these rallies, visiting different colorful fairs and festivals where different traditional Bengali dishes are served, singers perform tradional Bangla songs, jatra plays etc.
There are also small stalls where people get to buy traditional souvenir and decoration.
